Our trip to South America

We just got back from a long four week vacation in South America, we had such a fun time in Chile and Argentina. We were pushing this trip for quite a long time already, going to South America was always our first choice as a first family trip outside the States.

As a bilingual family and me being from Santiago Chile, going there first was always very, very special. We have been studying about these countries, theirs food, culture, dances, language, people and most importantly our background as a family the past few months.

We spent 3 weeks in Chile in one week in Argentina. We stayed with family and we were able to visit many places, like museums, different cities, beaches, parks, restaurants, and lots of handmade artesany.

We had such a great time, doing this together as a family, and not just my husband and I. This trip was long! 14 hour flight each way. We made it work and it was great! Traveling with kids can be tricky, but we learned that it was one of the most beautiful experiences as a family. We loved seeing their little happy faces in every new adventure we had together. We love seeing them speaking in Spanish or tasting new food and making new friends everywhere we went. These were definitely a few of my favorites.

Exposing our children to different cultures has been one of our priorities as parents.

Homeschooling is giving us the opportunity to do this anytime and anywhere.

As a bilingual family we want our children to understand that there is a bigger reason why we teach them a second language, the opportunities of this world are endless and the beauty of communication with people around you without any trouble is just beautiful!

As I said in one of my instagram post before, don't ever listen to those people that questioning your way of teaching your children, or the ones that ask a million times why do you speak a different language to them, does your child get confused?.. Or other questions like this.

You do, give your children the gift of a second, or even a third language, because tomorrow those children will be so grateful that you did. And traveling this world will become easier and learning from different cultures and people will be one of the most beautiful way of learning about this world and doing it together as a family will make one of the most precious memories.
